About Me

My name is Esther Stephenson and I am an artist, printmaker and illustrator, based in London. I find my inspiration within nature and nostalgia. I explore and experiment with traditional processes and methods and apply them to my own practise. I am influenced mainly by the Impressionists and Art's and Craft's. I am passionate about sharing and teaching traditional creative skills, as well as collaborating with others.

I studied Art and Design Level 3 Extended Diploma at Lincoln College, I went on to study Illustration BA at the University of Gloucestershire and also obtained a Masters there in illustration. It was at the university of Gloucestershire that I first discovered my passion for printmaking. Since graduation I have been continuing to explore and grow my creative practise, finding new techniques to explore along the way.

I’ve often found it difficult to define my style as I’m constantly exploring new techniques and methods. However I would say my work if often delightfully whimsical, thoughtful, reflective, charming and above all accessible. I’m not afraid to tackle difficult subject matter or try a new approach. I always try and leave room in my work for the viewers’ own thoughts and ideas. I don’t like to dictate a narrative or message, but guide the view though potential narratives; where their own thoughts and stories can intermingle with my own. I like to use styles, processes and subjects that viewers are familiar with (and a touch of nostalgia) to create heartfelt images that connect and emotionally engage with others in ways that often goes beyond my original intentions.

My Traditional skills include: Woodcut Printing, Risograph, Lino Printing, Etching, Relief Printing, Screen Printing and Booking Binding. My Digital skills are: Photoshop, Indesign and Illustrator

Refunds and Returns

If there are any issues with your order please contact me at info@estherstephenson.com

You must request a return and/or refund within 14 days of delivery, after which any requests for a refund or part refund will not be processed. You must ensure that the items are safely and securely wrapped when returning an order. Once returned your order will be fully refunded. I offer part refunds if you wish to keep an item despite any potential damage or if there is only an issue with part of an order. I do not offer exchanges. I am more than willing to do all I can to resolve any issues.
